Professional Floristry ~ Diploma Course
|
Designed in close
cooperation with renowned governing bodies in the
floral industry, this program teaches the student the art and skill
as well as the knowledge and professionalism
necessary for a successful career as a retail
florist.
Lessons include all aspects of design to advanced
levels, colour theory, principles of design, plant care, sketching, sales, management, IT skills and presentation
of a business plan.
Theory is kept to a minimum and students integrate theory and practice during the course of their studies. At the end of the
programme students will be able to:

and gift designs in the following:

Triangular, asymmetrical, round, vertical, horizontal and crescent.
Also includes parallel, vegetative and linear European style designs.

| Sketch bridal fashions and floral designs to process a wedding order.
|
| Make up beautiful
wedding designs such as corsages, headpieces, bridal bouquets.
|
| Design, create and gift-wrap hand-tied bouquets.
|
|
Be skilful in processing a sale, in person or by phone. |
| Make up floral arrangements according to customer's taste and budget.
|
| Knowledge of pricing and costing process and
the care and condition of a wide range flowers and
foliages. |
| Sketch interiors and window displays for commercial decorations.
|
|
Knowledge of colour schemes and use a colour wheel
to create harmonious designs. |
| Exhibit a working knowledge of wedding and
party preparation
| for personal flowers, decorations and delivery
|
| including etiquette, costing, planning and
consultation methods. |
